Mr. Taylor is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Hawaii William S. Mr. Taylor earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from Yale University, and his Juris Doctorate from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.  He was admitted to practice law in California and Hawaii in 1969.

Outside of his practice, Mr. Taylor supports Hawaii Public Radio (HPR) by regularly going on-air during its semi-annual fund drives as the creator of the Attorney Compliment Challenge.  The popular Attorney Compliment Challenge involves a caller who both contributes money to HPR and compliments an attorney.  The caller's contribution is then matched by a donation from one of a number of participating law firms, including Taylor, Leong & Chee, and by the complimented attorney, essentially tripling the caller's donation.
